Education and Experience:

Elizabeth is a registered nurse (RN) with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and has ten years of work experience in a walk-in clinic. Her daily work is to record the patient’s medical history, monitor symptoms and medical equipment, assist with administering medications, perform diagnostic tests, and collaborate with clinicians. In order to further improve her career, she signed up for an estimated 18-month online program to obtain a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN). After studying and completing this program, she has the opportunity to become an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN). An APRN can perform more extensive tasks than an RN such as evaluating test results and referring patients to specialists. An APRN’s salary is also better than an RN.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Elizabeth has a full-time RN job in the clinic and needs to go to the clinic on working days. She and her lawyer husband have two lovely eight-year-old daughters. However, due to her husband’s busy work, most of the housework and care of the children are undertaken by Elizabeth. Currently, she wants to take the online course for obtaining this master’s degree while balancing work and family.

Technical Skills:

In the work of the clinic, Elizabeth can skillfully use a computer or tablet to operate the electronic medical systems and some basic Microsoft Office software. In her daily life, she often uses the computer to look up information, send emails, or watch videos. Elizabeth takes everything seriously and responsibly and has a strong desire to learn. She can always accomplish her tasks brilliantly.
